Emily’s passion for financial planning began when she was only a couple of years into college - her parents lost their jobs at the same time. Money had always felt like something people didn’t talk about. Suddenly it was the only thing her family needed to talk about. Watching them work through it showed her how heavy a financial moment can feel when you’re facing it without a clear picture, and how much lighter it gets once someone helps you see where you stand.
That experience shaped everything she has done since. Emily believes that money conversations are hard because they are rarely just about money. They are about family, security, and the life you want to build. Her goal is to make those conversations feel safe, so clients can ask the questions they’ve been putting off without worrying about being judged. She explains taxes, investments, and planning in plain English, and she makes sure the plan fits the person, not the other way around.
Emily is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and an IRS Enrolled Agent, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Grand Valley State University. Her background spans benefits administration, wealth management, and financial technology. She works in Customer Success at Holistiplan, a tax-planning software platform, and is returning to Schwallier Wealth Management. As a CFP® professional, she is a fiduciary who always works in her clients’ best interests.
Away from the office, her favorite people are her husband and their one-year-old son. You’ll also find her at church, with a book, on discovering a new park trail with her family.
