Denise Nowicki

Executive Assistant

Maybe it’s because of her insurance industry background, but Denise Nowicki makes sure she’s got everyone–and everything–covered.

As our Executive Assistant, Denise is an analytical problem solver who keeps the office humming like a well-oiled machine. She’s deeply involved in administrative and accounting work. From managing budgets to processing client applications and more, Denise is in the details.

She’s also our IT guru. Over the past 30 years, Denise has leaned into technology, mastering the software and systems that make work more productive. So when it came time for Schwallier Wealth Management to move to a new CRM, Denise worked her IT magic and launched the best darn database ever.

When she’s not working, Denise admits to suffering from “shiny object syndrome.” Of course, we know this really means Denise is multi-talented and curious, with a total zest for life. She is constantly picking up new skills and hobbies. Knitting and crocheting are a current favorite, as evidenced by the big Rubbermaid bins of yarn in her home. She loves to read and has an on-again, off-again relationship with fitness and biking. She literally gives of herself as a blood donor, and she’s offered her time and talent to her condo association over the years.

But to really know Denise, you need to know that she is a woman of perspective. During her long career, Denise has experienced the roller coaster that comes with mergers and acquisitions. She has worked for small companies that were absorbed into global companies, giving her a broader view of the world and her place in it. And here’s what she discovered: the impersonal, cog-in-the-wheel corporate mindset is not for her. Instead, she draws her peace from living in Grand Rapids, serving our community, spending time with loved ones, and sharing her gifts in a hands-on way.

This perspective has shaped her approach to work and her appreciation for becoming part of Schwallier Wealth Management. Denise values the emphasis on personal relationships that drive our business. Whether she’s helping a client reach their financial goals or helping Adam manage his calendar, Denise is grateful to provide knowledge and rock solid reliability to the firm–and we’re grateful to have her!
